White Tea with Dried Blood Orange
Enjoy a calming, aromatic cup of white tea with a hint of citrus from dried blood orange slices. Using Alpine Serenity or Forest Spirit White tea creates a delicate, flavourful blend perfect for relaxation.
Ingredients
- 1–2 teaspoons or 3-4g of loose leaf white tea (Alpine Serenity or Forest Spirit White)
- 1–2 slices of dried blood orange
- 1 cup (250 ml) hot water (around 80–85°C, or just below boiling)
- Honey or agave syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
Instructions
Prepare the Water
- Heat the water to approximately 80–85°C. White tea is sensitive to high temperatures, so using water just below boiling helps bring out its delicate flavour without bitterness.
Infuse the Tea
- Separate Infusion: Place a slice of dried blood orange in the cup, then pour the brewed white tea over it.
- Combined Infusion: Add the white tea leaves and dried blood orange slice together in a pot or infuser and steep them simultaneously.
Steep Time
- Allow the tea to steep for 3–5 minutes, adjusting based on your preference for strength.
Sweeten and Serve
- If desired, add honey or agave syrup to taste and stir until dissolved. Serve the tea hot, or let it cool and pour over ice for a refreshing cold version.
Benefits of White Tea with Blood Orange
- White Tea: Naturally high in antioxidants, with a gentle flavour that calms and refreshes.
